A new life

Three months later Clair is fully recuperated from the 'surgery' but she feels she is missing her baby. One day Clair is called for a meeting with the directive were they told her she was not longer a birth mother and that she would be assigned at the fish hatchery. Clair starts a new life at the fish hatchery where she is assigned a room till she is assigned to a house and maybe later a family unit. The people on the fish hatchery are really welcoming and respectful towards Clair. Clair can't forget her baby so she goes sometimes after her working hours to the Nurturing center to help, but really to be near he baby.

Quotes:
"Now she would be working here, at the Hatchery. And living here too, she assumed, at least until... until when?" (Lowry 21)
This quote is relevant and interesting because is when Clair had just arrived to the fish hatchery and thought it was strange to live thee instead of living in a proper dwelling. I would feel the same if they would change all my life of a sudden.
"'It's always Thirty-six!'" (Lowry 47)
" Thirty six,she thought. Her Product had been number thirty six. She had kept the number firmly in her mind." (Lowry 43)This quote is significant because the children are called by numbers before they assign a name to them and number thirty six is Clair's baby.

The book took an unexpected turn on the story. I wasn't expecting for Clair to be assigned to a new job because of having difficulties with her Product. It surprised me a lot when the directive told her that she would be no longer living in the birth mother place because she was supposed to be assigned a new job when she had give birth to three products. The book is really intriguing with a turn lie that. What other unexpected turns could this story contain?
