Again

In this part of the book Clair had been secretly visiting her baby whenever she is able to. On this part of the book we discover that Clair's baby is different, he has bright eyes and would not be assigned to a family unit that year. Clair goes to the ceremony and finds out that Thirty six (her son) is not assigned and  Clair continues with her life at the hatchery but always having her son on mind. Clair keeps visiting her son on his extra year at the nurturing center.

Clair's son

"'I take him back to my dwelling at night.'" (Lowry 63) This quote is interesting and thrilling because who says it is a nurturer that takes baby thirty six to his dwelling every night so he could care for him. I feel empathy towards Clair because she really wants her son to be with her but she can't reach it, just like dreams.
"Secrecy was forbidden in the community, and the dream of the hidden newchild caused her to wake with a feeling of guilt and dread." (Lowry 58) this quote is a great example of the rules on the community and the desperate feeling of Clair. Why would they have rules like that?

This represent the hope Clair haves to be again and forever with her son

This book is a thrilling book with turns on the story on every page. I like the connections between these book and The Giver. I predict Clair's son is actually Gabriel from The Giver because the nurturing center attendant takes the baby every day. i aslo think is Gabriel because the attendant calls him Gabe. Is my prediction correct?
